The suite can convert DVD discs as well as most popular video files into iPod MP4 video. Supported video formats include AVI, MPEG, MOV, RM, RMVB and DivX, and supported audio formats include VOB, MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG, WMV, APE and CDA.
Output formats are iPod Video (MP4) and iPod audio (MP3, AAC and M4A).
Both applications in the suite support MPEG-4 encoding with a 640×480 resolution, compliant with the latest iPod 30G and iPod 80G devices out there.
Xilisoft DVD to iPod converter lets the user choose a starting point in a movie and duration of the video to be converted (conversion of partial DVD segments).
Resulting iPod videos are high quality, small-sized files. It supports batch conversion (one file starts being converted as soon as the previous one is finished) and multithreading conversion (convert several files at the same time).
The suite also features a conversion wizard that eases the process for novice users.
Is it fast? Yes, it is. Is it the fastest encoder around? Not at all. As said above, speed is just decent. But if you have some time to spend, then the very high quality output is worth the wait.
