The ImTOO Zune converter suite is capable of processing virtually any type of media file and flawlessly converting them into highly optimized, great quality Zune files.

The user can use any standard DVDs, AVI files (including DivX), VCDs, SVCDs, QuickTime MOV files, RM files, 3GP files, Windows Media Video files (WMV) and MPEG-encoded files (MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4), as video input files. It also supports the conversion of audio-only files, like AAC, WMA (Windows Media Audio), WAV, M4A, CUE, APE, CD Audio format (CDA), VOB, OGG, MP2, MP3, AC3, RA and RAM files into Zune audio files.

The resulting output can be easily imported into a Zune player with no problem. The suite can generate different formats, like H.264, MPEG-4 and WMA for Zune videos and MP3, WMA and AAC Zune-compatible audio.

Both applications in the suite (ImTOO DVD to Zune Converter and ImTOO Zune Video Converter, also sold separately) share the same fast encoding engine, with no need to download any extra codec due to the inclusion of every format supported right in the pack.

The speed of operation is really good; the suite is able to produce high quality videos with great quality/speed and quality/size ratios. Very customizable, it even includes some pre-built profiles the user can choose from to avoid dealing with complicated settings. All settings, however, are available on-screen and can be changed with a simple click.

One of the greatest features is that the user can preview the results of any configuration before starting the actual conversion process. This will be useful for those who like to experiment!

Software Stability (4/5)

When tested under the very minimum requirements (windows 98, AMD 750Mhz CPU) the program showed to be not as stable and reliable as we expected. This gets better, however, under better hardware conditions.

On a 1000Mhz Intel Celeron CPU, and on better systems, the suite behaves perfectly and we experienced no problems of any kind.
