Aimersoft DVD Studio Pack is a suite that includes four applications performing different DVD-related tasks. Together, these four programs are an all-in-one solution for DVD audio and video ripping, conversion and creation.
An easy to use interface, a wide variety or supported formats for both input and output, and the fact that it’s optimized to run on older, less powerful systems makes this suite a top pick for any serious video fan.
Feature Set (4.5/5)
The Aimersoft DVD Studio Pack runs under Windows NT4, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows XP and Windows Vista, and there’s even a Mac version (which is a different product, has three applications instead of four, and has less features than the Windows version). It requires an Intel Pentium II at 350 MHz or later and at least 512 MB of RAM. These low requirements make it cheaper if you need to build a PC exclusively for DVD ripping and creation.
The applications included in the suite support several input and output formats, including: MP4, AVI, MPG, MPEG, VOB, WMV, XviD, MOV, DAT, VOB, IFO, 3GP, 3GPP, ASF, FLV, WMA, M4A, MP3, WMA, AC3 and WAV. In addition, DVD Creator can burn several types of disc: DVD–5 and DVD–9; DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD+R DL, DVD-R DL, DVD-RAM. It also can create ISO files.
The Aimersoft DVD Studio Pack also has CPU autodetection, taking advantage of multi-core CPUs, 64bit CPUs (both Intel EM64T and AMD64 chips), as well as older CPUs. This results in an ultra fast operation both when ripping and when burning DVDs.
Serious video fans will appreciate the iPod copy manager included, which makes it easy to transfer files between the computer and the device in a fast and safe way.
The software also allows applying basic effects (brightness, contrast and saturation), as well as cropping video edges, and clipping (partial video selection).
The only drawback: some experienced users may find this suite “too easy”.
Ease Of Use (5/5)
Aimersoft DVD Studio Pack is extremely easy to use; just a few clicks are enough for any task. In addition, the whole suite is multilingual, a feature that non-english speaking users will appreciate.
Ease Of Installation And Setup (5/5)
Aimersoft DVD Studio Pack has a standard Windows installer that works with no surprises.
Quality Of Copy (5/5)
The suite can import high definition formats, and produce impressive results. Any effects you choose are applied exactly as you intended in the output video, and the default settings are more than enough, even for the most demanding users.
Software Stability (4.5/5)
The only undesired operation we found when testing the DVD Studio Pack was a system crash, which happened when running many heavy applications at the same time, and it was caused by a resource drain (the system ran out of memory). This did not happen again in further tests, so the cause was probably another application.
Summary (4.8/5)
- Great speed.
- Great quality.
- Can import high definition video.
- Extremely easy.
- Low system requirements.
