The Xilisoft Media Toolkit Ultimate is a software pack that features different applications which are sure to satisfy every audio and video need you may have.
Suitable for both beginners and expert users, this all-in-one package features five great Xilisoft products that take care of each task: DVD Ripper Ultimate lets you make backup copies of all your DVD movies into your computer, Video Converter Ultimate allows easy and fast conversion to and from a wide variety of video formats, DVD Copy Express makes DVD-to-DVD copies at lightning speeds, DVD Creator generates DVD discs from any videos you may have in your hard disk, and Audio Maker allows conversion from and to several audio formats, extracting digital audio tracks from audio CDs, and creating new CDs from the music you have in your computer.

The Xilisoft Media Toolkit Ultimate is packed with useful features, but not to the point of confusing the user. Indeed, all the applications in this pack are thought to make it really easy for an inexperienced user to take advantage of their power, yet many features are configurable, which will please the advanced user.
Of course, different applications have different features. For instance, DVD Ripper Ultimate allows you to clip, add effects, choose a subtitle, add a watermark or crop a movie before ripping; Audio Maker lets you choose the format and quality of the output audio, Video Converter Ultimate lets you import subtitles from a text file, and the last version adds DirectShow decoding support.
Both DVD Ripper and Video Converter have the ability of auto-selecting the appropriate settings based on the desired output file size. There is also a function that allows backing up a movie from a DVD-9 disc to a DVD-5 disc.
All the applications in the Xilisoft Media Toolkit Ultimate are now multi-CPU ready, which gives a great speed boost.
Codecs, frame rate and bit rate are fully configurable. The pack supports various formats, including: AVI, MPEG, WMV, MP4, RM, MOV, 3GP, VOB, FLV, MP3, WMA, H.264/AVC, MKV and AVCHD.
Ease Of Use (4.5/5)
All applications in the Xilisoft Media Toolkit Ultimate are extremely easy to use, with clear and organized menus and easily identifiable functions. The design follows a natural flow, making it obvious even for the inexperienced user what to do next.
Maybe the less intuitive program featured in the Xilisoft Media Toolkit Ultimate is Audio Maker, but after a couple of minutes exploring it anyone can master it.
Ease Of Installation And Setup (5/5)
The Xilisoft Media Toolkit Ultimate has a standard installer, easy as any other Windows program setup utility. It is rather convenient, because it installs all five applications in the same process, thus eliminating the need to run five different installers.
Quality Of Copy (4.5/5)
The output quality is quite good with the default settings for the encoders (DVD Ripper, Video Converter and Audio Maker), although it can be significantly improved by tweaking the available options. DVD creator can generate professional DVD menus and intro screens.
Software Stability (4.5/5)
None of this pack’s applications caused any undesired effects; the only thing to note is that when running on a single-core CPU system, sometimes video conversion gives the impression to “hang up” the computer for a few seconds; however this is just an impression due to the intensive processing. On multi-core CPU systems, this process is smooth and uninterrupted.
